Common-area screens are often managed by a different supplier than the in-room TV. That duplication costs money and fragments communication.

One back office for every screen

Lobby, lifts, meeting rooms, spa, restaurant and rooms share the same content library, schedules and graphic templates. Marketing updates a promotion once and sees it across every touchpoint in the property, with the option to exclude individual zones.

Content that actually works

Weather and local information, the day's event programme, wayfinding for conference rooms, the restaurant menu, spa promotions, short brand videos. The rule of thumb is a maximum of three messages per screen, slow rotation (8–12 seconds) and text legible from 4 metres away.

Meeting rooms and MICE

For the conference segment, screens become a sellable service: event name, corporate client logo, day's programme, wayfinding. It's a detail that matters in RFPs and differentiates the property when competing for bookings.

How to measure the return

Signage doesn't generate directly measurable revenue the way the in-room TV does, but it affects two areas: increased internal bookings (spa, restaurant) during campaigns, and reduced printed signage. With a serious content plan, the incremental cost typically pays back within the first season.

Hardware and installation

The same Smart Boxes used in the rooms drive the common-area screens, in portrait or landscape orientation, with scheduled power on/off and remote diagnostics. No extra players, no second maintenance contract.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use the screens I already have?+

In most cases, yes: any monitor or TV with an HDMI input can be driven by the Smart Box, keeping the existing hardware.

Who updates the content?+

Property staff, from the web back office, using templates pre-approved by the brand. No design skills or supplier involvement are needed.

Can different content be scheduled for different times of day?+

Yes. Schedules can be set by time of day, day of the week and season, with the option of immediate manual overrides for urgent communications.

Does signage keep working if the internet connection drops?+

Yes. Content is stored locally on the property's server: without internet, the screens keep playing the last synchronised schedule.
